Hello....more thoughts to ponder and the latest in my studio...

Hints & Updates: Thank you for the update from Jeff Dunham. It seems his DVD will be out in April 2006. Sweet Daddy Dee “looked great” and final word has it he will be wearing a combination of the Lime Green AND the Fuschia outfits...”I can’t wait for you to see it”...neither can we Jeff, thanks again! I am still getting use to the photo and editing process since we switched to the High speed DSL system. It changed a few things and the way my browser works to upload photos on this site. I have some new photos so bare with me as I keep adding more. I hope to add the Fuschia suit photos soon. Antioch Elementary has posted on their web site the new sign I created for them...check it out: http://aes.antioch34.com/page14.html Art stuff: The UGLY NECKLACE CONTEST yes that’s right I entered an UGLY necklace contest...sounded weird to me too, but I love a good challenge. Check out the site with the link on the left. My design photos will be on their web site soon for judging so keep checking back to see when you can vote for me...it is sponsored by the Land of Odds jewelry and bead supply in Nashville, Tennessee. Duct Tape...my newest medium... Any body want a prom dress??? check out the site for the “Stuck at the Prom” contest sponsored by Duck Tape. I have to find a client willing to let me make an out fit...this is a cool challenge! And a win-win one for their high school too! Site: http://www.ducktapeclub.com/contests/prom/news.asp yep there is even a club for duct tape enthusiasts! I think there is a club for everything now. IT’S ALIVE!.....yes that was the constant reminder to everyone who walked by me at the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation Wine Tasting and Silent Auction just recently. Ok, so why was this said? I offered to be a decoration at the event...a what? A decoration...you know like a sculpture or statue. Yes I was the decoration...I was the sculpture....a LIVE STATUE. The thought was that I could be the keeper of the pen during the night so that people would sign a mailing list for the foundation. I though why not make it interesting to be an all silver statue holding a feather pen next to a sign in podium. Ok, I donned an all silver gown of my design and completed the look with silver feet, face, hands, and wig...through generous amounts of applied makeup of course. What a hit!....more pictures to come! ( check out the one of me all in white from another event in the photos)...if you need me for an event...just e-mail! SEWING PATTERN DILEMMA Yes I have been a little busy...I’m completing a set of window treatments for a neighbor’s sister (not exactly one of my best artistic traits but I know how to sew and it tends to get around) Upon the task of cutting someone else’s purchased and measured materials you want to make sure all of your cuts are going to be correct because it is their fabric. The chances of you being able to fix a wrong cut are slim. I have never had this problem so I hope it’s solution helps someone else... I am trying to figure out how much fabric to cut and I hope I don’t cut too much off and not have any left for the rest of the project. I am for the lack of a better word...CRUMMY at math! I would rather fit than measure and hope it fit....yah know? Well, I now felt like I should have studied more in school because this problem kept me up til 2 am last night...should I go with my gut and cut? It looks like it will be right if I measured it right. But it just wasn’t coming out like it said It should Long story short....I called the 1-800- HELP ME WITH THIS FREEKING PATTERN phone number and found out that I wasn’t going crazy...there was a revision in the pattern I had and on my pattern there was a ....now hear this...A STEP MISSING!!!!! That’s right folks...human error! And there was even an easier way to cut out this particular style window treatment. In the long run my client ended up with 2 yards more fabric than she needed.....ok there is an issue of money here....but my best advice is this: If you need to use a pattern for a project, before you start call the 1-800 help number on the package and read all the directions before you cut the pattern out or buy any needed fabrics. This way you will know what your getting into and if there have been any changes since the printing of the pattern. Customer service said I had an old pattern. Mine was dated 2005 and there was still a revision made....mmmm, old? Well keep checking back...more photos soon of a line of art dolls I am slowly creating for the holidays and 2006... Happy painting!
